One of my interests is gazing in utter amazement at a bright starry night with the
central band of our Milky Way galaxy striding across the night sky. Just last night,
I observed a spectacular meteorite shower. The sun rises faithfully and the sun sets.
The seasons, although apparently rather mixed up at the moment, basically follow
a regular cycle, with longer days in the summer and shorter days in the winter. There
is order in all creation. Beauty is all around us if only we took long enough to
look around us and above us. Behind that incredible level of order, I thought, there
has to be an intelligent mind, creating it and then keeping it all ticking over.
That's where my inquisitive search for meaning to life started many years ago. The
evidence of an amazing, colourful, ordered universe seemed to be backed up by a biblical
picture of an all powerful God of order. The
Creator's paintbrush paints beautifully in the pinks and orange colours of an evening
sky. That beauty confirmed to my mind that at the heart of this creation is a Creator
God. Someone who loves and is in touch with the wonderful world and universe He has
made. That love, I discovered in the Bible, is directed at me and at each of you
reading this.
As a ‘God watcher’ I found Him even more incredible…. But strangely credible. I am
constantly amazed by what He does for me, in me and through me.
The Bible also tells us that He wants to be known - why don't you go on a personal
search and discover how He wants an amazing and wholesome relationship with you.
Oh, and look up a bit more, away from the bright lights and be amazed at the enormity
of a clear night sky.
