Greetings from Rose in Siem Reap Cambodia,
Well I have been in Cambodia for two months now, it’s still hot but not quite as hot as when I arrived. We are into the rainy season now. We have thunder and lightening then it rains very heavy but not for long, and it is still hot and humid. We have been to the village several times, each time in a comfortable van, as we have had a team from Singapore here. All the kids came running to see us and hug us. The last time I went it was a storm, everywhere was water and the roads and outside the market were flooded, people were wading through the water. We are praying for a van for the Centre to use, and also for the villages instead of motos as it will be cheaper for us all.
Have now got a multiple visa for a year so I can visit other places, and a flight ticket for a year too.
The Student centre is going well, I have been doing some English teaching there. Lots of students coming to learn English and other things, some have become Christians and are bringing their friends along. Also there is a Bible Study morning on the first Saturday every month which is well attended. I took some ideas from Sunlight Club and open the book to use for VBS, as I was doing the weeks schedule. The VBS went well the team called me the director, all enjoyed it although it was hard work with the heat.
Will be starting going into the 2nd village teaching on July 5th for 3 afternoons a week, till October 27th .Then a break till next term on November 1st till March 30th. It was so good to see Ivor and Carol, Ivor’s sermons have been good they are fitting in well. Rode on the back of my first moto it was good although a little scary especially through town and on the bumpy roads. I am getting a bit more used to things now, like having rice at every meal with strange food and eating lots of fresh fruits. The people here are very friendly easy to talk to, even if I don’t know their language yet. We have been out for several meals in restaurants, great food, and company. God is so good.
