My Story
When I look back at my life with Christ I can see His hand in all things. How He has taken me on a journey step by step in faith with Him. A lot has happened in the 28 years I have known God.
This is how Christ came into my life. I was going through a very difficult and distressing time in my life. When one day a lady came and knocked on my door selling perfume, we became great friends. As I had to move out of my house we decided to move into a flat shared with other
people. After a while she moved away, then one Sunday morning she phoned me to tell me she had  just got saved. She invited me to her house for tea and to tell me about it. While she was telling me I noticed a Christian newspaper and started reading it. She was going to church that evening, so I asked if I could be dropped at my bus stop on the way. The person who took us was the editor of the same newspaper I had read. He asked me where I wanted dropping off, or did I want to go to church with them? I said I would go to church with them and as soon as I said it it was like this black cloud disappeared and a heavy weight dropped off me.
At church there was a lovely service and I felt this great love there, there was an appeal and I ran out to the front and Jesus came into my life and changed me.

When I got back to the flat everyone could see a difference in me, so I told them what had happened to me. Later on the people in the flat came to Jesus and it became a Christian place. Many people came the young and older also Pastors and Evangelists.  After a while with God’s leading I moved away to another church. Then from their I went with the Pastor and his wife and family to help start a new church.

Through this time I have seen wonderful things happen in the church and also God’s faithfulness in my life, especially with mission trips I have been on.
One of the most challenging times has been going to Bible College. I obeyed God and He changed all my circumstances, and suddenly I was there.
The first year I went to South Africa on mission with other students to the orphanages, it changed my life.
In the second year I went on mission with other students to Zimbabwe, to orphanages and schools doing drama’s it was brilliant. In the third year I went with other students to Thailand, helping teach English to students and help take a children’s camp. Fantastic time.

After graduating from Bible College, I tried lots of organisations to help me get on the mission field. Although helpful nothing came of them. I have always had missions in my heart especially Asia. While waiting I got a job in a Cantonese Restaurant working in the kitchen with Chinese people. Also involved with local church kid’s work, after school club and Assembly in local Primary school.
Earlier this year I went on a mission trip to Cambodia for a month and while their God impressed on me again about going and helping the people and children their. While their I met a group of ladies from the  Philippines in Siem Reap they suggested contacting their organisation. So hope to go out as a volunteer to help them with children’s work teaching Khmer children in the villages, and also English for high school and university students at the Friendship centre in April for 12 month placement.

Not just service to God but more a love relationship for God out of that comes service with God.
